6 Important Things for an Early Stage Entrepreneur

Assaf Unger asked me to share my thoughts about the most important things for an early stage entrepreneur.

1. Create Believers
Startups are religions. In order to ensure that everyone believes, you must believe it. The "great ones" (Jobs, Gates, Page & Brin, Bezos etc) believed their ideas and created armies of believers.

2. Stay Hungry
Forget about raising millions, try to raise what you need to get your business going. How to survive on less is probably the most important skill for early stage entrepreneurs. Too much money can give you a false sense of comfort, and can make you sloppy, lazy and lead to mistakes.

3. Be Focused
Entrepreneurs usually try to do everything at the same time. Most things don't work that way, so try to stay focused on the important things.

4. Find Talent
Find great people, that are smart and passionate. Also make sure you have a great finance guy!

5. Define your Identity
You must to know what kind of company you want to be. What are your core values? Once you've defined that, you will attract investors, talent and customers.

6. Learn to say "No"
Last but not least, listen to everyone but trust your feelings. If it doesn’t feel right, just say "no" :)
